Gnew Gnoah Gnome

Chris couldn't bare the misery brought on by the loss of my beloved Gnoah... so he searched out Gnoah's parents and found a replacement Gnoah. He may look amazingly similar to Gnoah and I admit he is... let's just say the Gnome community is not so hung up on the ethics of cloning. So without further ado, I would like to introduce Gnew Gnoah Gnome...

Gnew Gnoah looking out the train window as we pull into Gare du Midi in Brussels. He was fascinated by his first train ride and couldn't wait to make his way in the city!

Similar to his predecessor Gnew was quick to make little Gnome friends.

Also, like Gnoah he was more than happy to sample the local brew.

Gnew is quite the show off and when we weren't looking he jumped up on the stage and started to shake his thing!

This little guy also loves his flowers!
Gnew is officially part of the family and will be joining up on our future adventures!
Until next time! XOXO

The Late Great Gnoah Gnome...

Gnoah's last great adventure was to Dublin. He was enjoying life up to the very last moment... and then he was gnome gnapped by a group of gnome hating hooligans... I can only hope that he is off somewhere enjoying his little gnome life and keeping his basket full of flowers.
Me and Gnoah at Powerscourt waterfall.
True to form... Gnoah making friends.
Also true to form... Gnoah insisted on his own pint of Guinness.
And the next thing we knew...

He does look happy.

I guess if it is your time there is no better way to go than in the bottom of a green beer in Dublin!

He's back...

Gnoah has been resting lately... kickin' back and takin' it easy. To hear him tell it, I forgot to take him along to Oxford and Holland Park but that simply isn't the case. He has been looking pale and I just thought he needed to rest. Regardless, when he saw our pictures from Hyde Park Gnoah insisted on playing in the snow all morning...

Despite the sun being out and the temperature rising, Hyde Park still has a pretty good covering of snow. However, I had to wear my hood as the snow in the trees is melting and I got nailed in the head with some giant wet globs of cold water... not fun. Gnoah laughed... not nice or gnomely.

Gnoah insisted that he could make a better snow angel that me. Ha! I scoffed at him and laughed the whole time he was wiggling about in the snow... Seriously, I am the snow angel master!

And then I saw this... not sure how he did it but Gnoah rocked the snow angel!

After the snow angels, we made a snow man... Gnoah made me do most of the work. Something about not being able to get his arms around the giant balls of snow? I think he is just lazy.

I suggested a snowball fight but Gnoah refused to put down his flowers. I swear, this silly Gnome should have been born in the 60s! He is such a flower child...

All in all we had a nice morning in the park.
We are looking forward to the next snow...in 18 years!

Who Knew...

Gnomes love the beach! Gnoah and I spent our 1st day in Puerto Rico lounging on the beach and enjoying the local brew... I asked a few beach goers to snap a shot of us but they looked at me like I was crazy, drunk or a combination of the two! Apparently, Puerto Rican's do not appreciate the finer points of gnome friendships! I was able to get a great shot of Gnoah on his own lounge chair...

It was great having Gnoah there since Chris had to work the entire day. I felt very bad watching him put on a suit and tie as I tied up my bikini top! I snapped this pic and sent Chris a "thinking of you" text, just to let him know I was missing him!

Meanwhile, Gnoah was lovin' life as he held his flowers and soaked up the rays. After a while, he felt inclined to wiggle his toes in the sand and just couldn't wipe the smile off his face...

That is one happy gnome!

Chris and I spent day 2 exploring the old city. Gnoah was feelin' a little exhausted from is fun in the sun and stayed back at the hotel. Chris and I explored El Morro, the cemetery and sweated... a lot! There was a storm coming in and there were big black clouds in the sky. The clouds were a welcome relief from the blazing hot sun! Once the clouds blew away the temperature was nearly unbearable... All in all, it was a fun afternoon despite the heat!

This cemetery might have the best view of any cemetery in the world!

Chris was standing guard in the sentry house at the gate of El Morro. He said afterwards he is holding an imaginary stick... scary!

Parts of El Morro were under repair but none the less it is an amazing fort. Considering it was built in the 1500s, it has held up remarkably well! It was fun getting to learn about Puerto Rico's history but it was also nice to get back to the reason we were visiting...

the beach and the mojitos!

The rest of our trip consisted of beach, pool, and Don Q... Don Q being the local rum!

Chris and Gnoah were livin' it up on the beach. Chris was just happy to be enjoying Puerto Rico since the last few weeks he has been working from sun up til' sun down and wearing suit and ties! Gnoah started to let loose, too. I think he may have helped to run up the bar tab...
Puerto Rico was a great time. I would definitely return... especially, if Uncle Ernie was willing to foot the bill again!

Gnoah's big day is coming...

I don't have anything new to post so I decided to redecorate. Hope you like the new look.

We had a showing on Sunday but the lookers said our kitchen/family room was too small and we were over priced for the market. However, their realtor commented on how they looked at another home that was for sale several months ago so I get the feeling they are not serious buyers. It seems like their are some people out there that think we should just give them the keys for nothing or perhaps we should pay them to take the house off our hands! I hope they do not have to sell their homes any time soon because karma is a... you can finish that sentence how you feel fit ; )

We are a little discouraged but we have a plan. We are trying to be a bit more patient with the process. I don't want to say anything yet because obviously our main goal is to sell the house soon and I don't want to jinx it! Part of the plan does entail sending in reinforcements for St. Joseph... poor little Gnoah Gnome! He is a good gnome... taking one for the team! I promise to provide pictures for your viewing pleasure of the big day.

Gnaming the Gnome!

So there we were driving through Wheel, Tennessee (yes, that is really a place!) when Chris looks out the window and sees a yard that is chopped full of yard art. Now, I am using the word art very liberally here but I am certain that the owner of this cozy abode feels a sense of accomplishment every time he/she looks out at their creation. Chris's face lit up like a Christmas tree with pure delight and he says "I know what we should do!" Now I follow with the inevitable question... "what?" I should really know better by now!

And Chris lays out the plan... He says we should build an ark and collect 2 of every plastic lawn animal we can find. Once we are satisfied with our menagerie, he wants to display it in the front yard. I add that my little gnome buddy can stand in as Noah... and then boom! It hits me like a bolt of lightning... We should gname the gnome Gnoah!

So there you have it. Our trusty traveling companion will be gnameless gno more.

Say hello to Gnoah (and Moe)!

And here are some family reunion pictures for good measure!

Gnome on the roam...

So anyone who knows me is surely aware of my obsession with Gnomes... We had a stow away on our trip ( I may have had a hand in packing him ; ) and I thought I would share his adventures through London... he is nameless at the moment so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. From the looks of it, I think he may be making a few more appearances on the blog!
The gnome made himself known when we ordered our first plate of fish and chips. As you can see he jumped right on to the plate... we let him eat all the peas he wanted!
He enjoyed riding the tube but got some strange looks when he decided to climb out of the bag and take a proper seat!
He loved how the red telephone booths match is hat. So he decided to have a 7-Up and make a quick call to one of his Gnome friends. He is a little hard to see but he is in there... I promise.
See... Gnome friends. He was looking for a place to crash but decided this flat in Knotting Hill with his buddies was not going to work out. He really wanted something with a little more character, maybe a garden and a iron fence.
And the next day while walking in the park we found it... a perfect Gnome home. Doesn't he look happy? I mean what Gnome wouldn't want to live in Hyde Park next to the Queen. Maybe he will let use crash a few nights when we move!!
